I came across this quote today:
Technology is dominated by two types of people: those who understand what they do not manage, and those who manage what they do not understand.
Putt’s Law
Which of these are you doing in your business? The longer I work, the better (I believe) I am getting at understanding what I don’t manage. When it comes to technology, there is so much to learn and the learning curve gets steeper every day. I think it is essential for business people to understand what they can’t manage and let the experts take care of it.
Sound like a naked grab for customers? Actually its not. In my business I’ve learned to hand off things like bookkeeping and taxes and even office administration so that I can focus on my business – which is Technology.
If you’re spending too much time on your technology and not enough on your business, we’d be happy to talk with you. Maybe you need our services and maybe you don’t but we can help you see how to get the best from your technology without letting your technology get the best of you.
